General
The DMD15-13 pump heads are designed specifically to reduce the pulsating flow that is typical in standard peristaltic pumps. To achieve this, the DMD15-13 pump head contains two separate channels, each equipped with 3 rollers that rotate in a dephased way.
Each channel has a set of rollers that compress the tubing at slightly offset intervals. This dephasing ensures that when one channel is pushing fluid forward, the other channel is either preparing to push or is already pushing, effectively smoothing the overall flow. These two channels are then combined at the output, where their individual flow rates synchronize to balance out each other's fluctuations. By merging, the alternating flow rates from each channel complement each other, resulting in a much steadier output. This configuration is particularly beneficial in applications requiring minimal pulsation, as it helps produce a nearly continuous and stable fluid flow.
