Whereas standard ChipShop connectors only accept soft-walled tubing, this set of connectors allows connecting any 1/16" OD rigid tubing to a ChipShop chip.
Suitable for rigid tubing (PTFE, PEEK, etc.) with an OD of 1/16" (1.6 mm). Manufactured in blue TPE, max. pressure of 3.2 bar with a 1/16" OD PEEK tubing.
Plugs to block unused ports are also available in our shop.

The HUMIMIC Starter is a necessary instrument to control the HUMIMIC Multi-Organ-Chips from TissUse. It displays 24 pre-calibrated pneumatic connectors and is compatible with different arrangements of chips. It can operate up to 8x Chip3/Chip3plus, 4x Chip2/Chip4 or a combination of these different devices. With several tissues being cultivated per chip, this versatile platform allows the study of complex interactions between different organs, providing a more accurate representation of human biology.
The pumping frequency can easily be ajdusted through the user-friendly 7" touch display, from 3 to 120 beats per minute. Pressure and vacuum can be continuously modified via the user interface. Thanks to a USB-port, users can easily transfer pressure profiles and data to the control unit.
The HUMIMIC Starter should be connected to compressed air (5 to 6 bar). If the air compressor delivers a pressure above 7 bar, a pressure reducer shoul dbe used to avoid causing any dammage to the HUMIMIC Starter. Compressed air must be dry and oil-free. The connection between the pressure outlet and the control unit is made through 6 mm or 8 mm external standard tube.
It is possible to reduce the amount of needed compressed air to +200 kPa with a volume flow from 7 to 10 l/min by connecting an external vacuum (ultimate vacuum 200 mbar, minimun pumping speed 10 l/min).
HUMIMIC Chips contain 3 pump membranes involved in liquid displacement within the chips. The change of pressured air and vacuum leads to the opening and closing of valves to push the liquid into the chip microfluidic circuit.
